a space to breathe, a plan to grow, and the tools to become exactly who you want to be.

In many languages, Sukoon translates to a deep sense of peace, the kind that isn't just the absence of noise, but the presence of clarity and internal quiet. We are a Sydney-based practice dedicated to helping individuals navigate the complexities of trauma and self-discovery.
-
Mind, body, and spirit are never treated in isolation.
Specializing in strength-based recovery, we provide a collaborative space to bridge the gap between where you are and who you want to become. The approach utilizes neuroplasticity, the brain’s inherent ability to reorganize itself, by blending evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with somatic and creative modalities. Instead of just talking about change, we create the physiological and psychological conditions for it to happen
We believe in keeping things simple, neuroscience backed, and human. At Sukoon Therapy, we believe your survival strategies, the things that helped you endure trauma or life transitions, are proof of your resilience. Our work is to help you take those inherent strengths and repurpose them to build a living that feels authentic, empowered, and truly yours.

It all starts with a choice. Maybe you’re ready to heal old wounds, rebuild your confidence, or simply feel like yourself again. Whatever brought you here matters, because healing isn’t just moving on, it’s moving forward with purpose and strength. Your story begins with one powerful decision ~ to try.
Hello!
I’m Saba, and I’m really glad you’re considering working together.
A little about me, my professional background includes a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, and certification with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia. Over the years, we have supported people across many settings, each carrying their own stories, griefs, hopes through change, uncertainty, and deeply human moments.
Therapy, as we practice it, is an invitation to slow down. To notice what has been carried for too long. To develop compassionate ways of relating, not only with the world around you, but with the parts of yourself and your nervous system, so life feels less like survival and more like something you can inhabit and find joy in.
Outside of our sessions, I’m a passionate biker who loves the clarity of the open road and a huge advocate for the healing power of green spaces. The rest of my time? That’s strictly managed by my cat. I believe that a soft purr is one of the best ways to reset a nervous system. So if you see a friendly fur face pop up during our session, just know it’s my assistants checking in on the progress.
Whether you’re searching for direction, relief, or simply a place where your experience can be met without judgment, you’ll be held by someone who respects both the fragility and the ferocity of being human. I am looking forward to hearing from you. :)

Your brain is a masterpiece of Neuroplasticity ( the ability to reorganize its structure, functions, and connections in response to experience, learning, injury, or environmental change) Here at Sukoon Therapy, these are particularly longer sessions. We collaborate to utilize tools based on Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Whether you’re struggling with cultural adjustments, coping with past trauma, or managing stress and anxiety, I am here to help you develop practical tools and strategies to navigate these challenges. In our sessions, we don't just "talk about the past." We work through it with a specific structure designed to keep you from feeling overwhelmed. Before we ever touch the childhood trauma, we build your "toolkit." We focus on grounding exercises and emotional regulation so that when we do look at the heavy stuff, you have the brakes to slow down the process whenever you need. We gently challenge the "inner critic" with CBT Techniques, Stoic Thinking and the distorted thoughts that trauma often leaves behind, replacing them with a narrative rooted in your current strengths. Together, we will work to uncover your inner strengths, build resilience, and foster deeper self-awareness. We acknowledge that healing isn't linear. Our focus remains on empowerment, giving you agency over your story and your recovery.

Life coaching focuses on how to make positive changes, while counseling often looks at the why behind issues.
We start by identifying areas where you want to improve or grow, like building confidence, reducing stress, or managing your time better. Together, we’ll create a plan to help you achieve your goals and move your life forward in a fulfilling way. As we work together, we’ll also explore and address any underlying habits, emotional blocks, or skills you might need to reach your full potential.

Did you know the Doctors in Japan often prescribe Forest Bathing for reducing blood pressure, heart rate, and muscle tension? In our fast-paced, digital world, our brains often suffer from sensory overload. Research suggests you can lower your cortisol (stress) levels and ground yourself in the present moment with the help of Nature Therapy. It is an intentional practice of using nature to heal and recharge. Reach out now to find out more.

Master your mindset and reclaim your energy. In these sessions, we use rhythmic breathwork to energize the body, followed by guided meditation to sharpen your mental focus.
It is a workout for your nervous system that leaves you feeling calm, clear-headed, and capable. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to breathe and listen.

As a psychotherapist, I understand that sometimes words fail us. You do not need any artistic skill or experience to participate or benefit. Instead of focusing on aesthetics, we focus on the process of creating. Art Therapy offers a powerful, non-verbal path to explore difficult emotions, gain insight, and foster personal growth. It is a clinical practice that uses creative expression—like painting, drawing—within a therapeutic relationship. The finished artwork then serves as a starting point for discussion, self-discovery, and emotional processing with me, your therapist. If you are looking for a gentle, insightful, and alternative way to approach your healing journey, Art Therapy may be the right fit for you.

FAQs
What can I expect from my first session?
Your first session is a gentle beginning, a space where we’ll take our time to understand your story, your goals, and what you hope to gain from therapy. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. Together, we’ll create a supportive and personalised plan, moving at a pace that feels right for you.
What kind of issues do you specialise in?
I specialise in helping individuals with trauma recovery, confidence building, emotional regulation, navigating life transitions, domestic violence support, and self-esteem development.
Whether you're seeking to heal deep wounds, rebuild your identity after a difficult chapter, or simply learn new coping strategies, I tailor each session to meet you where you are ~ with respect, patience, and care.
How can you help me?
I offer more than just experience, I bring deep, compassionate understanding shaped by over six years of working directly with trauma survivors in both India and Australia. I’ve supported women rebuilding their lives after domestic violence through the government’s Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) unit in India, guided callers through crisis on the Jeevan Aastha Suicide Helpline, and worked alongside NGOs to empower individuals at some of the most critical points in their lives. In Australia, I’ve helped those recently incarcerated find healing and hope through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and I currently work as a family therapist with the Department of Communities and Justice in Sydney, supporting families recovering from trauma. What I offer you is a blend of evidence-based therapies like CBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care, grounded in emotional intelligence, real-world experience, and an unwavering belief that healing is possible. Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to walk it alone. I’m here to help you find strength, clarity, and a way forward that’s truly yours.
Do I need to have a "big" problem to start therapy?
Not at all. Therapy is for anyone seeking growth, clarity, or support , whether you're facing a major life event or just feeling a little stuck. Every feeling, every story, and every desire for change is valid here. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from a safe space dedicated to you.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you’re asking the question, it’s a sign you’re already listening to an important part of yourself. Therapy can help when you're ready to better understand your emotions, break old patterns, heal, and create meaningful change. It’s less about needing to be "ready" and more about being open to exploring what’s possible — at your own pace.
